Kevin and I went away to Portland Maine this past weekend for a 'Weekend to Remember' Family Life marriage conference. It was a lot of fun and it was amazing to be able to sleep through the night--something I forget is even possible. (Yes, my girls still get up at night and now the dog has us up as well)

Weekend away....
Kevin and I went away to Portland Maine this past weekend for a 'Weekend to Remember' Family Life marriage conference. It was a lot of fun and it was amazing to be able to sleep through the night--something I forget is even possible. (Yes, my girls still get up at night and now the dog has us up as well)

Oh that brings back so many memories! My husband and I stayed in a B&B in Portland probably 10 years ago. Such a beautiful area! Hope you enjoyed the weekend away! Sounds like a blast! :-)
We've gone the the Family Life marriage conference a couple of times (hmm, maybe 3 times?)... it's a wonderful time of retreat as a couple... Mark and I should go again in the next couple of years; we're in a different season of life now; can always take something new away from it. I'm so glad you guys got to get away and spend time together with just the 2 of you!
A funny note: our first Family Life conference was back around 99 I believe; we weren't married and weren't yet even ENGAGED! We just knew that we would be married someday, and had known we should wait a year to become engaged, so we spent the year doing premarital Bible studies together in preparation... it was a little awkward though, when all of the engaged couples there (when we broke off for the pre-married tracks) asked when our wedding date was, and we weren't even engaged yet!!! (No, we didn't sleep in the same room; it was a local conference in Nashua so we just went during the days). Fun memory.
