Grace like Rain

Can you feel it?!

It is pouring down all over you! Look up, close your eyes, taste it on your lips, and then take a drink from the only source that can satisfy your deepest longings.

God's grace is like rain pouring down all over me and my stains are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY washed away.

Birthday at the beach

Who could think of a better place to celebrate a b-day?! The weather was beautiful too.

The girls and I started school on Monday. They have been anxiously counting down the days and we are now back into a somewhat normal routine of things....somewhat...the routine never seems to last. My car has been in the shop for about 3 days now so I have been forced to take it slower, which has been helpful because I have just not been feeling the greatest again.
The first 2 weeks will be a bit quiet before Drama club and Ballet start up...then along with the co-op we are now involved in things will get a bit crazy around here.
Kevin and I are still planning on taking our backpacking trip, and I have been 'working out' every morning to attempt to be a bit more prepared for the climbing-- with 35+ pounds on my back. I always forget what that feels like until 10 min into the trip and then it suddenly all comes back to me and I wonder what the heck am I doing out here again....kinda like going into labor...you kinda forget about that pain until those real contractions kick in and then "BAM" it all hits you, and you say, "What was I thinking?!". yeah...almost like that

I just have not had the time to blog lately...it is 1 a.m while I am typing this, so apparently I still don't have the time--just taking it while I can.
Hope you all get a chance to get out and enjoy the last bit of summer while it lasts...I smelt fall in the air today, so outside time is a must before the New England winter sets in.

Camera fun

I was given the opportunity to have a 'trial run' as a 3rd shooter (the small details/strange angles/different perspective-- person) in a wedding last Saturday. I had a lot of fun having my camera in front of my face all day, and it was a great learning experience for me. Here are just a few of the pictures (seeing I filled two 2GB memory cards)--completely untouched--I am sure they will need a lot of editing and thankfully that is NOT something I have to worry about.

I can't help but smile when I hear....

"MOM....Hannah is going to tattle on me!!!"
"This is Ji-Mungous!" (Gigantic and humongous)
"Don't be-get (forget)"
"Be-memba (remember)"
"I love my talkie walkie (walkie talkie)""Mom, can I have a cranola bar (granola bar)?"
"Mom, I just saw a Shoe Fly!" (when I see a fly I sing, "Shoo fly, don't bother me..", and I guess they thought I was naming a certain kind of fly)
I have also been hearing a lot of giggles when we have been around boys (supermarket,etc..) I am assuming that part of the fascination comes from a general curiosity of male gender, maybe as a result of not having a brother...I hope.
I ask what they are giggling about and
they say..."We are talking about boys...heeheeheeheee..."
I ask, "What about boys?" and
then they say, "Oh, here comes one, hide!"
I ask, "Why are you hiding?"...
they respond with, "Boys will steal our money.", "Boys like to do funny dances and goofy things.", " I like when they smile at me.", "I like that boys fancy shirt.", " I like that boys hair."
--Yes, I do smile when I hear that, but deep inside I remember that they are only 4, and what will life be like in 10yrs?!--scary--

August

Just a few pictures, not much to say. We went on a last minute trip up north for just one night. Had the ache to get away. The cold mountain air was the refreshment I think we all needed. ...in other news...Kevin and I are preparing for our backpacking trip--part2. You can read about part1 HERE.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

Mornings

I am not a morning person. That may partly be because I hate to go to bed--I stay up reading past midnight-just about every night. (most of you moms may understand that...that is our time off. Nobody to ask for something to eat, no dishes to wash--the demands of the day and of their need for us are temporarily over--why would I want to sleep and let it start over so soon?!) Mornings are tough but they also offer something intoxicating that I don't find at any other point during the day. Stillness. I like to step out first thing in the morning to try and breathe it all in...and every time I take that searching breath it penetrates, comforts and I smile. I scan my surroundings...looking in awe at the perfectly oval raindrops kissing the delicate wildflowers. I smell fall approaching and the thought of comfort foods follow. I can't help but spill praises out to my Father for His artistic display. My few moments, during my outdoor morning therapy, are exhilarating, and predictable....part of my morning gloom is exhaled and I enter my house ready for my unpredictable day.
