Grace like Rain

Can you feel it?!

It is pouring down all over you! Look up, close your eyes, taste it on your lips, and then take a drink from the only source that can satisfy your deepest longings.

God's grace is like rain pouring down all over me and my stains are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY washed away.

The best way to make dinner

Yes, this is one of the best ways to get dinner made. Water, soap and dishes and they have a blast...yes, it does leave a big mess and I do need to wash everything over again, but they have fun and I get dinner done in peace. (notice the clothes)

Everything always ends up in Nora's mouth. I found 4 rocks in there the other day.

These girls and clothes

I am telling you...I have never seen kids change so much. It just doesn't stop. I keep telling myself, "Pick your battles, pick your battles", but they get attached to certain items of clothing that they want to wear outside, to sleep in, to the store, etc....and they are in tears when it comes time for laundry or when I just want to put them in something different. Yes, saying it, it does sound SO trivial so I just need to let it go.

Hot days

Well, things are finally getting--HOT, here and there, of course. It is time for a new kid pool...we have had this one for three years and they are just too big to enjoy it now.

I've been busy.....

can you tell....?

FATHERS DAY

For the past 3 years we have gone to Canobie Lake (an amusement park near our house) for Father's Day. Every year Hannah and Nora have been scared of the rides and this year was no different. They did each go on a small roller coaster with Kevin but they didn't want to do anything alone. Oh well, maybe next year. Below is Emma watching the 'Boston Tea Party' ride. There is a huge wave that crashes over the side to soak those that are watching and she was about to get hit....sorry, too lazy to turn the picture the right way.

"I don't want to have fun!"

Okay so we finally got them on a ride...Emma put her arm around them so they wouldn't be scared.....
Then right before they started the ride they made Emma move in the back (3 are not allowed in one seat) Kevin and I looked at each other and smiled because we knew what was coming next....
"WAAAAAA......WAAAAAAA....." Poor Emma, she tried so hard to keep them calm and to tell them everything was okay. That was the end of that ride and also the one and only (alone) for the rest of the day.

Maybe in another year

Well, I started allowing Hannah and Nora to feed the dog on their own...they wanted to be a 'big girl' like Emma....Maybe I should wait another year on that. For some strange reason, since this episode, I have been finding dog food up in their bedroom too. Seems like I am daily picking them up while walking around the house. I am waiting to find a 'cup load' hidden in some strange place.

Cooler days

It really has been cold. Well, the temps have been in the lower 50's but windy and rainy. So, we spent those days inside. Here the girls are making cookies--Hannah being a goof.
Here they are eating those cookies. If you would also notice my HUGE pile of laundry to fold in the back on the table---Uhhhgggg....I put it on my kitchen table so I am forced to fold before dinner.

Why??

"Why"...you may ask--why, "Why"?...well, WHY get them dressed in the morning, what is the point. Really...minutes after getting them dressed, layers upon layers of dress-up clothes are on top of that, or they take off what they just put on to put on dress-up clothes. H&N are wearing layers of all their favorite things. We went to the supermarket with them like this the other day. I once would change them, do their hair, etc...before leaving, but I just don't have the time for that and you know...is it really that big of a deal that they walk around like this?!

Markers...ROAR

You think you have them all out of reach until you see a set of purple hands.

Brave?

Hannah is confused about the word--Brave. The other morning I heard her get up to go to the bathroom and then she came into my room with one of my razors in her hand and blood all over her mouth. She told me that she was brave to cut her chin open with my razor. Hmmm....I put pressure on it for so long but just couldn't sit there anymore so I had to put a bandage on it. Thought I would take a picture to show how silly it looked. Later that day I was dealing with a disciplinary issue with Emma, Hannah was on the potty waiting for me to help her and Nora went into the bathroom with Hannah and locked both of them in the bathroom--NOT FUN. It took me a while to try and get them out but then finally Hannah figured out how to unlock the door. That is a scary thing...those two, together, alone in a bathroom for more than 2 min.

Another beach day

Girls night out....

All of my 'sisters' (sisters and sister-in-laws) and I as well as my mom went out for dinner the other night. Khaki is the new addition to the group, she will be married to my brother Danny this coming fall. It was a fun time...
