Grace like Rain

Can you feel it?!

It is pouring down all over you! Look up, close your eyes, taste it on your lips, and then take a drink from the only source that can satisfy your deepest longings.

God's grace is like rain pouring down all over me and my stains are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY washed away.

Individual time

Individual time is something I love but hardly ever get. I need to make that time because I see it is so important for them and for me. Last week during 'rest time' I made the girls sleep. I could tell they really needed it, with their emotional shows. Nora fell asleep first so she was awake first. I rushed her downstairs to have some special time with her and it was wonderful. We had pumpkin seeds with tea and then cuddled on the couch to read some books. It was great for both of us. I need to MAKE that happen more often.

The 3 Red Riding Hoods

Yes, so they all wanted to be Red Riding Hood this year. I told them they needed to pick their costume from out of our dress up trunk and they all wanted to be the same thing. Kevin wasn't around so I just took them to the mall to do their thing. The whole car seat thing makes it hard to do door to door. The mall was crazy though. Too many people and I felt like it was a rat race to get candy before they ran out. Don't think I will do that again. They love dress up...to use their imaginations...and being outdoors really adds to the whole excitement of the night. They still had a blast though....

Caught snoozing

Funny, Kevin walked in early from work and I was doing school work with my sister so I asked him if he could check on the girls, who were taking a short 'rest time'. Minutes later I went to check on him and this is what I found. Nora is awake and just enjoying the cuddles.

(Now that we are about finished doing work in our bedroom it is time to start on the girls room. Time to start pulling off wallpaper--fun fun. We are hoping to sell that is why)

Fun with Breanna

yes, bree...learning IS FUN!

Girls playing outside

I caught the girls giving their stuffed puppies a b-day party. Then feeding them 'dirt cake'. It was cute.

Life with 3 little WOMEN

This is all I know so I don't know if all girls are like this and if boys do this as well, BUT this is some of life with my 3 girls...

It is a very normal thing to hear them fighting over clothes almost every morning. Now because my girls are so close in age and size, that may be part of the problem. I am about ready to do some big changes in their bedroom to stop this issue, I will fill you in later.

It is also very normal to see them in at least 4 different outfits a day. Sometimes 4 in just a few hours. Their moods change and so do the clothes. This is one area I have chosen to pick my battles. I once had very strict rules about changing clothes (my laundry is out of control) but I was already dealing with many other disciplinary issues at the time that I chose to let this one go.

They are always reorganizing my things...the entire house. "Mommy, I think this will look better here" or "Mommy, I moved all the towels into the step stool and all the panties to under the sink for you."

They are always shopping with my things. They get grocery bags and walk around the house grabbing pencils here, crayons there, shoes, socks, toys, toothbrushes, etc...

Lately they have been decorating. We went for a nature hike to collect leaves for a craft. I put them on the counter and went downstairs to do my laundry and when I came back up they were so excited and came over to me saying, "Mommy, mommy, we are decorating for you." It was adorable....I took pictures of all the crazy places they put the leaves to 'decorate' and I left them in those places for a few days, until the dog tore them up all over the house...pics are below.

Yes, below...this one is decorating our pull-up basket.

Our craft stuff....

oh, this one really made me laugh. We have been painting and doing some work in our bedroom and this stuff was in the hallway and they decorated all over it...including the random shoe...

Carving THE pumpkin

So, last year I blogged about carving pumpkins...(I am too lazy to pull up the old post and link it, so really quick...)They were so excited about carving a pumpkin until I told them it was time to clean it out and they all gave me faces as if I just told them they had to go to bed. I posted the pics below from last year.....

See the looks on their faces?!

A year has gone by. They are a year older. Their initial reaction was the same, but after me comparing pumpkin goo to finger painting, playing in the mud, sticky caramel mess, they agreed to give it a try....

Emma looks ready.

Hannah is freaked out and jumps back as if there is a large snake living in the pumpkin. She is also horrified that Nora is putting her hand in there.

Nora pulls away out of disgust.
Hannah gives it a try but Emma looks on in disgust.
Hannah again pulls away and everyone looks on feeling similar.
Nora again gives it a try, but runs into the bathroom to wash up after every touch.
Hannah gives it a little pinch.
They leave it up to Daddy to do the rest.

a strange post...

Yes, this will be a strange post. Just a blend of photos, not much to say (give you a bit of a break from my very LONG-WINDED posts from the past).

Below the girls are playing. Nora is sitting in the top part of a fan and the girls covered her with things.

My lunch for a few days....
Hmmmm.....

They have started to dress their stuffed animals in their own clothes, which can be good and bad.
Bouquets of leaves...one of my favorite things.

Small things I love

A sweet love note from Emma.
