Grace like Rain

Can you feel it?!

It is pouring down all over you! Look up, close your eyes, taste it on your lips, and then take a drink from the only source that can satisfy your deepest longings.

God's grace is like rain pouring down all over me and my stains are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY washed away.

Sick, Snow, and Satan

Everyone has still been sick off and on with different things....throats, fevers, coughs, WHINING....We have also had lots of snow, which the girls have loved.

Today I was reminding Hannah that she needs to get along with Nora:

Me: "Hannah, you need to stop fighting with Nora or you will be playing by yourself."

Hannah:-- in a whining voice-- "No" --followed by a face of regret--

Me: --shocked--"Hannah, did you just say 'NO' to me?"

Hannah:--"Ummmm, no mommy, I was just saying no to Satan."

Some days they fight over EVERYTHING!

Emma: crying..."I don't feel well, my head really hurts!"

Me: "Well, it looks like you have a fever, I want you to lay down."

Nora: "Mommy, she took my fever, I didn't want her to take my fever!!!"

Sick kids and a tired mumma

Yes, they have 'it'....the dreaded cold/flu, whatever it is. Mornings are tough, afternoons seem fine, but the middle of the night is about to kill me. Oh, sleep....sleep....sleep.

Conversations at the dinner table and the wisdom of my 5 yr old

There are many interesting conversations that take place at the table, thought I would send one on for you all to experience.

Emma: "Mommy some day you will be a grandma."

Hannah: "I don't want you to be a grandma, I want you to be my mom."

Emma: "Hannah, when we have babies, mom will be old and be our kids grandma."

Hannah: "I don't want babies!! I don't want to have needles in my belly!!!!"

Emma: "Oh, Hannah (emma says while giggling), you are just a kid, you don't have to worry about that stuff yet."

Nora: "I don't want to change diapers, YUCK!"

Emma: "Well, Nora (emma says while laughing) that is all that momma's do, they always change diapers."

Nora: "Well, I want 4 girls and 4 boys."

Emma: " I want 5 boys and 5 girls."

Hannah: " I want one girl and a baby sheep."

H&N bday party pics

Just some bday party pics

Bday party prep

Hannah requested a white cake with white frosting
Nora requested a pink cake with pink frosting
they had pink cookies
They are getting ready to go out for dinner with daddy while Emma and I got ready for their bday party. Now, I have worked hard over the years to make sure that they feel they are individuals and that I don't dress them the same, etc....but no matter how hard I have tried to do that they want to be the same. So, I am officially letting it go...they picked out their coats above and wanted the same, and the same shoes, they put on the same color clothes, etc...now I just need to learn a different way to tell them apart because as much as they want to dress the same they hate to be called the wrong name.

Birthday day

When the girls were asleep Kevin and I decorated their beds with streamers and a special balloon....so, they woke up very early and recognized the 'fun'. Then there was the added excitement of looking outside and seeing all the snow. . They requested cereal so Kevin went out and got them 'pink cereal' and they opened their first gift at breakfast.
Of course I let them design their own outfits for the day.

Hello winter, my old friend

The girls and I were so excited to wake up to winter. First thing that morning we were out exploring.

We have this great sledding hill in our backyard.

and we built our first snowman of the year

Decorating our tree

When the girls were in the NICU the nurses made these ornaments of their hand and footprints. They were just about 1 month old when they were done and it is amazing to see how small they were and to see how much they have grown since then.
